Something Different from Anime/Manga

Death to all moe.

And a concept being used in a different way. You can always tell which ones use the concept in a different way. (For instance, why is it that out of all the sports anime and manga that come out, Hajime no Ippo still seems fresher than the majority of the "save the world with our sport!" ones?) Concepts, concepts, concepts.

More international co-productions. Whatever happened to Ghibli film by a foreign director that was reported a year or so back? Sounded interesting, that did.

Miss Winnie who, sir?

More fantasy shows that aren't a parody and have arabition. More space opera and original sci-fi. More action shows that do not follow the typical shonen jump formula. This isn't really a product of dissatisfaction, I've always wanted more of these things. It would be fabulous if something totally new got made that became the next Macross or Fist of the North Star, or something.

They should also go for more totally original stuff that you can't put into a neat little category. Quite a few people seem to be latching onto Eden of the East this spring, and there's a pretty good reason for that.

WHY NOT?! Nobody minRAB non-Japanese animation including these. One of the more recents examples I mean is Skunk Fu.

Not furries. I mean more Funny Talking Animals. I mean those like Adventures of Little Koala, or Sherlock HounRAB. Those are what I want.

I suspect these are much more common in Japan than you think, and that they just don't get translated into English that much...

Not China, though. China banned talking animals.
