someone using my phone number?

I got a phone call yesterday from a lady I didn't even know and she asked me if I had been sending her text messages because she had received a lot of messages from my nuraber.
And another thing, I've been having trouble sending and receiving texts these last few weeks. I'd move to Cingular this week if they had unlimited texting but nope...this is the only reason I'm still dealing with cricKet :mad:
could someone be using my nuraber or something?
 
if someone goes thru crickets website...they can mistype there nuraber. Funny story...I once sent me wife some "rather seductive" texts thru the cricket site and mistyped her nuraber by 1 nuraber. Nedless to say a woman called me then her husband chewed me royaly... :erabaresse :doh:
 
The same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I got calls from 2 different people saying I txt'd them when I didn't. I called Cricket and they told me they would switch my nuraber for free. I don't want my nuraber to be changed so I am gonna deal with it. Hopefully it won't happen again.
 
I'm gonna have to get cricKet to change my phone nuraber because last night my friend called me to ask if someone had used my phone, i told her no. Then she told me some guy left her a dirty message on her voicemail, supposedly from MY nuraber.
how on earth is it possible to use someone's phone nuraber and how do they get the nurabers stored on your phone?
 
I've seen incomplete ports a nuraber of times with those symptoms. A buddy of mine has a cingular phone, and it turns out Verizon actually issued one of their customers the same phone nuraber. both of them have had the same nuraber for approximately 6 months and they routinely receive calls that were intended for each other. I'd suggest getting your nuraber changed, if you're not attached to it, but people could still send texts from the internet, using your phone nuraber...
 
The only excuse they gave me was a mix up in the cell tower were the calls get switched or something like that. BS if you ask me.
