someone please help with my nokia 6680?

i recently got a nokia 6680 off my freind and i bort a new 3 sim card for it and it keeps sayin sim card registration failed. Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you?
 
if it says that it means the sim isnt activated, did you activate\ put the sim on ur acct?
