I left my apartment at 3:00 p.m. EST, and shut and locked my door as I was leaving. I double checked the lock, and made sure it was locked. I can't lock the deadbolt unless I'm inside the apartment, because my landlady lost the key to it. I went to work, and came home a few hours later. I arrived home at 7:20 p.m. EST, and when I pulled in what did I find? My front door standing wide open.
I absolutely did NOT feel safe entering the apartment at that time, so I walked around the corner to Wendy's, and use a payphone there to call the police. The police arrived in about 5 minutes ( very nice response time compared to the police department where I used to live) with a canine unit. He came upstairs, searched around, and when he found nobody, he put his dog back in the car, and walked back up here with me to ask me if anything was gone.
Some things were out of place, and some stuff was knocked over. At first it looked like nothing was missing.
Until I walked over to my desk and opened the drawer where I was keeping my money until I had the time to open a checking account at a local bank (since my old bank is way too far away for me to make any deposits right now).
The drawer was empty.
Whoever broke in must have been specifically looking for cash. I'm now out $200, but it could have been much worse. I had a gut feeling to carry most of my money with me today. Had all the money I've been saving up been in that drawer, I'd be $800 poorer right now.
I almost wonder if it was the same person who fucked with my car. I don't know. I haven't really done anything to make any enemies around here.
IF I CATCH THIS MOTHER FUCKER HE'S FUCKING DEAD!!!
