Someone else was driving my car, and we got into an accident. The person didn't have their driver's license on them, and I wasn't sure if insurance would cover it if he was driving, so, in a moment's decision, I decided to say that I was driving. After a few words with the other driver in the accident, he easily agreed that he wouldn't mention anything about who was driving.
Well, it turns out my friend is an asshole and won't help me out with any of the damages even though I took the hit for him and said I was driving.
I am going to court soon to bring down the "careless driving" ticket I subsequently got. I know it is on the report that I was driving, but is there any way I can confront this in court?
Could I even make a claim that he was the one driving? Or will they not even hear that.
