Some quick questions about the wildlife biologist job?

Oh yah, I also forgot to mention I LOVE to travel and I LOVE to write (even reports). I was hoping to study mammals and being able to travel to South America, etc. to do research.
I'm a high schooler looking at my options and I have some questions about the wildlife biologist career.

1. What is the average pay? What is a high pay?
2. What animals can you study?
3. Do you work with animals in the wild?
4. Do you travel alot?
5. Do you write reports?
6. What else do you do?
7. How would I go about becoming a wildlife biologist?
8. Tips/Advice?
9. What type of animal do you study yourself?
10. Is it rewarding?
11. Who are the main employers?

Most of these kidns of jobs are volunteer. Usually a project is run under the guise of a large university or organization... Wood's Hole in Mass. is one

There is little call for any of them as a job in and of themselves. That is, no one hangs out a shingle saying "Wild Life Biologist" and expects to get hired by anyone or any organization. Usually a university gets a grant when and you might get to be part of a University team.

The grant goes to the university, and any of the funds used to pay board and keep for student volunteers. These types of jobs aren't done for pay, but for being part of a student team.

So, if you wish to study wildlife, find a University that has one of those types of departments, major in biology or some related subject, and as a graduate student (you'd be 22 + years old) you may get to be part of a team for a year. But any real money? uh, no, sorry.
