some questions regarding od 20 guitar pedal and pedals in general.?

i was wondering wether to buy this or not ive seen every where that its amazing.
also do i use the overdrive modes on the pedal while the overdrive on my ampo is on.
zalso would using a boss od 20 sound good when put through a marshall mg15 ?
