Some questions about mono?

I have a few questions regarding mono...

-How likely is my boyfriend to catch it if we had sex the night before I was diagnosed with it?
-How soon is it safe to have sex again with the enlarged spleen?
-If they put me on antibiotics will that affect my birth control?
-If so how soon will it be normal again?

Yes to your first question, "Can my boyfriend catch it..." There is a good possibility that he may contract mono--another name for mono is "the kissing disease".
Answer to your second question, I would think that you would really not feel up to having any sex while you are suffering from mono.
Answer to your third question is YES---antibotics will affect your birth control. If you are taking a birth control pill, the doctor who ordered the antibotic should have told you to use a back up method.

Mono is a virus that can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months. Some people are able to function once the main symptoms clear, however, they may still experience fatigue until the virus is completely gone from your system.
