Some Like It Hot - Thank You ITV

I would have thought BBC would have screened a fitting tribute to Tony Curtis who died yesterday. They must have many archive interviews he did with Parkinson plus movies such as The Defiant One and The Boston Strangler.
But no. It was ITV who ditched their planned schedule programmnes tonight and screened Some Like it Hot.
Great movie...so thanks ITV (not often I say that)

Rather than put it into a more fitting afternoon slot instead of the graveyard slot? No, they couldn't remove their present Bond from it's schedule. The Bond movie in question isn't even canon.

I have seen it so many times I can speak the dialogue along with the actors, I have it on DVD but I still watched it. Whenever they showed it, they responded quickly so I second the thanks to ITV and Friday night at 10.30 is not nor ever has been considered a graveyard slot.

It's not meant to be a riotous comedy by today's standards.

I enjoy watching it but I won't LOL as I've seen it so many times now and know the plot backwards.

I hope the BBC does a season of films he's been in. The Vikings, Taras Bulba, The Great Race, Monte Carlo or Bust and Spartacus all great Saturday afternoon films if you ask me.

A great film classic very funny, Jack Lemmon said in an interview Tony didn't like hanging around in drag waiting for Marilyn to turn up as she was nearly always late on the set, sad all three have gone:(

It is more a comedy of errors. I don't remember laughing much when I have seen it but I do enjoy the characters especially "Sweet Sue". She is my favourite.

No, it isn't just you.

Despite it being hailed a classic, and me being a fan of all the main actors, I have never liked it or even managed to sit right through it.

I would have preferred a scheduled showing of this or another Tony Curtis film, at a better time, rather than very late at night.
