Some Help Please Maybe???

I have a 2006 Blvd C50C.

A few of times now after I have filled up, once I am back on the road at cruising speed my bike starts to cut out & sputter. After a few minutes it settles down and runs fine until the next time I fill up. I stopped in the shop to buy a fuel filter only to be told my bike does not have a fuel filter.

Does anyone know what my trouble might be?

Thanks for the help.

I don't understand why TOO much would be a problem. I do fill it up as much as I can get into it. Can you explain? Yes I am in California.

Thanks

Not familiar with your exact bike but there are two reasons:
A certain amount of air is needed at the top of the tank to allow space for expansion when the tank gets hot
AND
In California, many recent bikes have extra plumbing and a charcoal cannister to trap gas VAPORS coming out of the tank. If you fill the tank too full, you are more likely to get liquid gas into that cannister, thus screwing up the works and making the mixture rich as the cannister gives back a LOT more fuel than it should.

How long has it been doing this?? If one or two tanks it could also simply be bad gas. Just a thought before you may have to find a more serious problem.

Apparently this was my problem. I was filling too full. I filler up today and did not fill as high as I normally would no problems at all. Thank you very much to all who responded. Even more so to "Easy Rider", you hit the nail on the head.

Thanks,
