Some HD channels showing no info in EPG

I'm still having the same problem and I still have V221 of the firmware. Is there any way to force a download of V222?

I've been having the same problem with ch 816 819 821 for weeks. I've got a 9200, rented for the past 22 months.
When I called they claimed ignorance also. Had me reboot, diagnose switch, the usual.
Finally forwarded to senior tech who said even though there is a v222 software, it did not apply to my unit and would not help. He wanted to format my drive to solve the problem. I said no as I would lose all recordings. He offered me three free ppv movies as a consolation? I said no, I didn't think that was going to solve the problem. Offered to replace unit then with a refurbished 9200. I said no, if anything, I wanted a new 9242 at this point. He said ok but I had to pay $75 installation??? I said no way was I paying anything and then we got cut off! Spent the next hour trying to get through, but the hold times were crazy by then.

Is this just the 9200's that have this problem? Anyone have a 9200 rental that was updated to v222, solving the problem?

No reboots here.

The 9200 seems to be responding slow to commands, though. For example, if I go to delete something from the PVR it takes several seconds before the program is deleted and I can start doing anything else. It used to be almost instantaneous.

My PVR has had a lot of stuff on it lately (nearly full at times), so I suppose the hard drive might be getting fragmented. If I get it cleaned up it might cure my problem.

Firmware is rolled out in stages by IRD #. You should all get it within a couple of days.

Please ensure you post firmware related issues (such as "how do I get it") in the appropriate place.

Thanks

I have this problem "no info" on my 2700 and my 4700 for many years... But my new 6141 work perfectly!

Checked my guide this morning and I have ABC and PBS back. Still on 221 though. Whether it will stick...

The updates that occur at 3 AM are for the EPG and have nothing to do with firmware upgrades, which can occur at any time.

Randy Dodge I have had all the problems you have had. As I said before I am an old timer with Bell and I am on the Legacy package. It appears this glitch is wide spread across the HD EPG.
Sometimes my ABC HD East is perfect and other times there are only two programs in the menu.
ABC HD W has no EPG and PBS keeps drifting out depending on the day.

Instead of bellyachin on the web site which is a good place to vent ,collectively we should be putting pressure on Bell to provide the service we are paying for. Call in and I would reference this site so they know you are not an isolated case.

As off 11:30am Toronto time my 9200 has the V222 software and the EPG appears to be working correctly.

They have added HD shadded symbol in front of the channel in the EPG to indicate that you
are watching or tuning into an HD station.
If the HD symbol is on the guide that will idicate that you now have the V222 software.

It appears that Ma Bell listens but they are a difficult company to deal with when the staff are unaware of a known issue with their own system .

So I have had this problem for over two weeks and when I call they get me to do the same things over and over. Today I called and they want to replace my receiver....now I am on the phone with them and they tell me they cannot get the problem fixed and they cannot force my receiver to upgrade to version 222...any suggestions from anyone please

Quite frankly I am tired of paying for a service that they do not provide.
It was posted here that new firmware was coming
v222.

Well in Toronto I am still have v221 and still the same problems with the guide. There was a post that the new firmware was spoooling and that was three days ago. Nothing here yet as 1:30pm Sat Sept 13/2008

They have credited my account with two weeks service because I can not set my PVR to HD abc.

I will tackle the Bell CSA on Monday.I tried on Friday and their answer was we are busy wait for an agent.

It appears that the CSA are kept in the dark about ongoing problems and all they give you in the standard reboot unplug pull the card out.The CSA in India will tell you they are going to fix it but they know even less.

Quite frankly this has been the first real problem that I have had with the 9200.

I will suggest it again call Bell and register your complaint. Posting on this site is good form of communication but I do not think the problem will be solved here. The problem and the fix rests with Ma Bell so call in and complain/

I also got the V222 download last night. EPG is now fixed. Bell seems to be saying that the problem was not wiith V221. Amazing coincidence.

I have received the v222 software update overnight. I can confirm that it has fixed my No Data Available guide data (formerly on ABCHE, ABCHW, and PBSHD).

I've had the same problem for over a week and have (usually) temporarily solved the problem by pulling the power cord for about a minute.

I called tech support tonight and their solution was to pull the power cord and disconnect the RG6 cables connected to my 9200 for 10 seconds. Needless to say, as soon as it came back up, it rebooted again.

I was on hold for 10 minutes while the rep "supposedly" looked into the problem. How is it that they seem so clueless about known issues?

Yes, I have V222 now as well.

just got to paint the receiver black and pretend I have a 9242 now.....

Yes. Rental and v222. Updated a week or so back.

Since the update the EPG has been fine (and it was showing the aforementioned no info before).

I tried unplugging it for a good 30 minutes; no go. Still won't turn on :(

I'm highly considering switching to Cogeco at this point. Not just because of this, but the lump sum of problems I've had with BEV. It's gotten ridiculous at this point. I'm probably going to have to send this receiver in for a new one which will probably take a few weeks, only to get one which will inevitably have the same issue again.

Yes but unfortunately you still can't hook up an external hard drive.

To the experts: Is the problem that prevents the 9200 from using an EHD:
1. Hardware related?
2. Software related?
3. Bell policy related? (tell me it isn't so)
