Some Eastern/Western Tidbits

The more I watch animation, the more I realize some. Each side has their own point of view on something. Take the Food for example. The meat in Eastern animatation is mostly cooked flesh wrapped around a bone, whereas in Western animation, it is a cooked bird or a bouvine's leg. Stereotypical witches of the west are often green skinned, ugly faced, old hags, whereas witches of the east are pretty much the oppsite. When characters burn their mouths, their faces turn red, steam/smoke come out of their ears, and the start to breath fire. The difference I found in that is that the East has a rushing background while the West has a bell-ringing, siren sound. Does anyone know anymore of these?

Well, there's always the odd "Peace" sign anime characters usually flash. While it's never utilized in the US (unless the character's a hippy or something), you can occasionally spot a random American cartoon character doing it, if it was animated in Japan. For example:

Both are acceptable as long as they're used in the right context. For Victory if someone wins, and Peace if someone wishing one good will, which in the US is usually a Hippie of some sort.

One time an asian guy took a picture of me and I gave the peace sign and he told me that I can't do the peace sign if I'm not asian.

Well, this calls for some further explaination. When was the last time you've seen an American cartoon character flash the peace sign at random? Only Hippies do it in the US. It seems like some bizzarre photo pose thing in Japan. So sometimes if you see a character in a Japanese show striking odd poses for some reason, they'll flash a peace sign.

I've also seen Mungo do this in a Japanese animated Cattillac Cats.
