If you want bigger better fish, get a bigger better tank

that's like asking "i want a car that can go 250 mph but i don't' want to pay for anything more than a 4 cylinder vehicle"

Tiger bars will work, but you need to keep them in groups of three because they are schooling, and they wont school with albine tiger barbs.

3 wll be enough.

You can do Dwarf puffers, they're brackish, and can be found at many small mom and pop fish stores.
 
what are some cool active fish to put in a ten gallon, i do not like guppies tetras anything like that. im thinkin like tiger barbs a red tail shark anything thats neat that i could put in thats cool and fun to watch. again i dont like tetras guppies little fish like that. thank ya
ive got a 55 gallon in my living room i got the ten in my bedroom i do have a bigger tank. i just want some fish to put in my ten to keep in there
 
You could have a freshwater puffer fish tank!
You could have:
Green spotted puffers,
Red eye puffers,
Figure of 8 puffers,

But you need to make sure they have been in a freshwater tank at the shop and not brackish if you want to keep a freshwater tank!

OR if you want to have other small tropical fish as well, you could have them and a pygmy puffer (a dwarf species which is not aggressive)

They're all VERY cool fish to have!
