some authors have fake names and i was just wondering how you would do that, like how it'd work and stuff and how to get one, ect. also, what about when they pay you for your book. what i'm asking is just give me the info on getting a fake name to stick on the front of the book for privacey

Your publisher will probably ask you what exactly you want on the cover as your name. If not, just ask, and they'll let you do whatever you want. Within reason, I mean. Pen name, initials, etc.

(I'm planning on writing under a pen name. Probably this one, although I haven't picked a last name yet.)

Anyone can write under a `fake name' - known as a pen name or pseudonym.
First - Write something as best as you can, edit it, rewrite it and polish it.
Second - make sure the name's not already taken/well known (it'd be a bad idea to write under the name S. King, for example).
Third - Shop your work to a publisher or agent.
Fourth - If your work is accepted tell the publisher you want your work released under your pen name, not your actual name.
Fifth - when you get your advance check/royalty/residual payment check it will be in your actual name and you'll have no problem cashing it.
I write under three different names for different markets and I've never had a problem cashing a check. Just a suggestion: Pick a name which sounds good for the type of work you're trying to publish. Everything's about marketing the work. A children's book with the title The Winged Fairy will sell better if the name on the cover is something like Sarah Winfield rather than M.F. Bloodred. Though the Bloodred name would be ok if you're selling Thrillers or True Crime.
All the best to you.............

The fake names that some authors have is called a pen name. You can choose it yoourself, and that would be the name that goes on the front of your book.

Just find a publisher
and have it the book/whatever made with your pseudonym [that's what it is called btw].

You get paid but the book has your pseudonym on it.
