Solving systems of equations using Gaussian elimination when they equal a variable?

I am almost certain I knew how to complete this problem, but when I looked the answer up in the back of the book, I was wrong.

Solve for x, y, and z in terms of a, b, and c:
-2x + y = a
-3x + 2y = b

Answer:
x = -2a + b
y = -3a + 2b

Showing any work would be greatly appreciated.
