My dermatologist prescribed this medication for me a month ago. He gave me a nuraber of samples, which I've used up until last Thursday. I went to the pharmacy to get my prescription of it filled and the cost was, with insurance, $207. $500 without insurance.

Now, I've had some success with the medication, but there's no way I can afford to pay over $200 for acne medication. The dermatologist gave me a $50 off coupon, but even with that, $150 is still a hell of a lot to pay.

To anyone who is on it: If you don't mind saying, how much is your co-pay for the medication?

I'm wondering if my insurance is stingy, or if it's really this damned pricey.

I am also on solodyn and was shocked when I went to pick it up. It was $75 and it said my insurance saved me $414.00. I think it has actually helped my acne (which is on my chest area) but makes me feel kinda' weird. I itch (spot on arm or leg) and when I scratch it, there is no satisfaction. I also felt lightheaded a couple of times. At that cost, I am hoping it doesn't work cause even $75 a month is a lot. I wasn't even given a coupon.
I am also using tazorac, a topical. It is making it peel, which is a good thing. It is $65 a month. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It actually works quite well, for me. It's a shame it's so damned expensive.

If it's making you itch, I wouldn't use it.
