Solo traveller Vacation ideas/ problems / questions?

Hi Everybody,

Im a 23 male and want to travel when i graduate college. I'm planning on travelling alone and have some trouble finding a good company to travel with. I dont have a specific destination yet.

My problem is that some of the companys i found either promote singles in the sence of meeting someone for a romantic relationship, or student/young people travels that promote a wild vacation with allot of drinking/clubing.

Im looking to travel in jan of 2011. I want and escorted group ( with also have other solo travellers) vacation, within my budget who promote culture en meeting people in the form as friends and not in the romantic scence.

If you know any company or have personal experience(travelling allone i would love to hear it.

My advice would be to avoid the group part of it and just set off with a backpack and a small tent and see what there is to see. Groups travel can add a ton onto a trip cost, where camping gives you a ton more money to see the sights and have fun where you are. I personally have never wanted to be on someone elses schedule with a group.

Some of the best times I have had traveling was just meeting people in bars and campgrounds.
