Sold bike to a coworker and I lost the check!?

I won a bike; it didn't suit me. My coworker decided to buy it. When she came over she handed me a check and i put it in my jacket pocket and helped her carry it to her car. I walked into my home, went into my pocket for the check and it wasn't in my pocket. I have looked all over my yard and the porch area where she gave me the check.

I feel really silly. I know I'm going to have to ask for a new check. Would a stop have to be put on the other check? I really really gave her a super fantastic deal; the bike sells for $260 and I sold it to her for $150. How much is a stop fee?
 
There is nothing you can do.. these days people know how to get arould the systems. whoever took it.. cashed it in allready and spend it

and as for a new check

once it leaves the person's its your reponabiltie not theres
