Hello all,
Recently upgraded from IIIe to T/X. Have been limited on software choices for years. What are some of the "must haves" in the way of software? Are they compatible with the T/X?

Thanks

Bob

Check out the following, which all work with the T|X:

Datebk5 (soon to be datebk6)
4cast (gives you the weather for next five days, via wifi)
AddressXT (replaces and improves upon Contacts program)
eReader (if you like to read on your Palm, check out www.peanutpress.com)
psMemo (FREE memo replacement program)
AvantGo (FREE - allows you to download webpages to your T|X)

Many others... this should get you started!

Hi Bob

Josh listed some excellent programs.

My must have programs are:

ZLauncher (or Silverscreen) - but that's only if you don't like the palm OS
iSilo
Agendus - I would literally not be able to function without this program.
Documents to Go
Kinoma Player - watch home video's of my little girl
Resco Picture Viewer
VersaMail and WebPro

By way of games I love; Insaniquarium, VillageSim and Monopoly

And for any women reading this: Woman is a brilliant program for keeping track of girly things.

If you travel, you should consider getting CityTime and CTAlarms. CTAlarms will let you set appointments for other time zones.

iSilo is my ebook reader of choice. However, if you want a free reader, Plucker is an excellent choice. It has nearly all the features as iSilo.

THanks all,

Some of those programs look great. Havent been able to find psmemo or 4cast. Any ideas of where to find those? Is there a Palm OS version of quicken that will sync up with my desktop version? Also looking for a good site to get traffic information that is palm browser friendly.

Thanks

Bob

Check out Memo Plus, & Zlauncher is a big definite yes. Just be sure to get version 5.32 for TX compatibility. Anything by Resco is recommended, I've beta tested their Sudoku & been involved in suggestions on the rest. Esp. Rlock - which is free.

Datebk5 soon to be 6 is a long inhabitant of the many must have lists. 5 is fine now & 6 is still in beta, tho I'm using it... MySkin & Font Smoother (should be locked by rlock) both by Alex Pruss, great apps, great, responsive developer. I love MessagEase for alternative text entry & much, much more - exideas.com

Good luck

I am trying Agandus and I really like it. It is what should be included on the Palm. The thing is...that it doesnt sync to the Palm desktop. I read the website and I thought it says it does. Does anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks

Bob

Agendus is a great program what ver. are you using? All of them should sync with the palm desktop just fine. They sell an enhanced desktop which is also very cool, but not necessary. Another great program is mapopolis. If you are planning on using agendus get mapopolis too they are designed to work together. Tap a contact and you can get a map and driving directions. Way cool. You can d/l all mapopolis' US maps for $34, great deal. BTW, where can I find datebook 6 previews? Pimlico's website doesn't seem to say anything about a new ver.

You might try to join the pimilco yahoo group. Datebk 6 is up to preview 9 already, and the bugs are being worked out. Two new things I can see is a today view, and versa mail plug in, and the latest beta version of 4cast is also a plug in for the today view, but is causing crashes for some, and working for others. To find the zip files, you have to weed through the messages. Guitar Picker.

iambic sells 2 desktop versions of Agendus. One is made to integrate with Outlook and a different version integrates into Palm Desktop.

Agendus on the Palm device uses the built-in PIM databases, so you can view the basic data. However, you need to purchase the desktop versions of agendus to get the extra views and icons to show up.

My bad...After spending a few minutes and playing I found that it is syncing with the palm desktop. What a great program. I have just loaded ISilo, Ereader, Filez, PalmPDF and Bejewelled2. Not really sure about Isilo....What is it for?

Thanks
Bob
