Soft tissue injury or something else?

Im not sure where to put this so feel free to move it =]

So for a year now my left wrist has been painful....im right handed if that helps in any way.

Its right around the part you bend....but its not a constant pain. Its only when i move it or try to grip/pick up things.

Some days its less painful but lately it hurts alot.

I was told at first maybe i had damaged the nerves, then that it could be a small fracture that has healed wrong. Now im told its a soft tissue injury.

I have no idea what that is, or if it is in fact that. But the doctors just tell me to go home and not use it! A bit diffcult since im at college and most of my course involes typing! But its not to painful when i type.

Are they just fobbing me off so to speak, trying to get rid of me?

Im getting quite angry now!

Also it is meant to have happend as a result of getting hit by a car. But nothing was picked up in the xrays- I dont think they even xrayed it since my brain was swelling so rapidly!

When people fall, they naturally put out there hands, and there is a little bone in there called the scaphoid. It often is the one to break. There's lots of little bones in that area, as well as the carpal tunnel, which forms a literal tunnel for many nerves and arteries and veins to go through. It sounds like you broke one of the little bones in there and it hasn't healed correctly, as they said. But if I were you, I'd definitely get it X-rayed. It may be an easy fix, you know? And it doesn't sound like it's getting any better. I could be wrong, but I would also assume a joint injury like that now, puts you at a higher risk for it becoming arthritic later.. which wouldn't be fun. Post back if you get any more news!

What happend when you got hit by the car? I don't think they're trying to get rid of you, some injuries you realy just can't detect well on X-rays, however if it is affecting your daily life then they should do a more intensive work up. What happend when you go hit by the car?

The doctors that you have seen, was one an orthopedic doctor? Request having a nuclear bone scan run on your wrist, this will show any small fx that is not being picked up with an x-ray. The other thought is that you have developed carpal tunnel. Try using some advil along with a wrist splint.

I had a serious head injury....thats it, just 7 hours in surjury to sort the swelling/bleed/clot and no other injury to my body...not even scratch!

Apparantly im a miracle lol!

Good to hear you made it through that accident. Was the wrist ever X-rayed? Push your thumb against your pinky and other fingers, as in tryin to oppose your thumb. Any pain?

My doctoer wont refer me for one, she says its soft tissue damage and i saw another and he said its nerve damage. Theres no way i could go to a different doctors surgury as they arnt in my catchment area. So i feel kinda stuck!

A little pain- not much though, but some clicking and cracking esspecially when i do the middle finger.

I dont think they did ever xray the wrist.

I have to see my doctor next week anyway for an ingrown toenail, so i shall explain i need it sorted. Its just so annoying that they wont refer me.....i would go to A & E but its no really an emergancy and there are people who need help more urgently.

I thought abot carpel tunnel but it doesnt seem to be the right area and no pins and needles....i think there was a fracture that healed wrong but my doctor argues that they cant break it again and fix it as there would be no point! But if its healed wrong surely it would be worth fixing!
