Soft Reset at end of Synch

Typically the last item "backed up" will cause the symptoms that you describe so you can either post your hot sync log or look at it and determine what is causing it.

Also, some programs have settings to force a soft reset after each hot sync so hence the reason to post your log....then we should be able to narrow down the issue.

Thanks, Mooseman.....it's a pretty brief log (because I configured everything to not synch to try to troubleshoot):

The last item, Backup, refers to Backup Buddy. For what it's worth, the Palm screen says "Cleaning Up...Please Wait" when it resets. I wonder what's running when it's "cleaning up?Jim

Cleaning up is Normal -

Also, I'd rather you actually copy the log and paste it because it appears that you paraphrased it and that's not going to show me what I need to know. You can edit it after it's pasted when posting.

Backup is a normal backup program (not BackupBuddy which is on the handheld - and it could be set to reset after a hot sync) that's part of the process and by not showing it...well that could be the issue.

It's also possible that even though all of the conduits are set to "do nothing" in a trouble shooting effort - the issue is on the handheld and not a result of these conduits.

I actually suspect the Skyscape Smart sync program to be at risk on the handheld for "forcing" a reset each time you hot sync. I'm not familiar enough to be certain but you need to look on the Palm as much as you do anywhere else - actually more so.

Double check BackupBuddy, Skyscape and Plucker for the possibility that they will cause a reset on the handheld.

I did copy/paste the log. It's brief, isn't it? Thanks for your suggestions; but, what do you mean by "Double check BackupBuddy, Skyscape and Plucker for the possibility that they will cause a reset on the handheld." Delete them from the handheld and see if that fixes the problem?
I moved Plucker and BackupBuddy VFS_DATA.pdb to a "Misc" directory on the SD card and the problem still occurred. There are no Skyscape programs on the TX (that conduit is left over from a prior Palm T3, but this one was hot synching fine in spite of this several days ago). I'm not sure what else I can do to troubleshoot. Thanks again, Moose Man.

Maybe it would help to delete some of the conduits on the PC side of the conduit. How do I do this? In the past, uninstalling the PC application that created the conduit removed it from the list of conduits in the Hotsync Manager, but this is not working, at least with Skyscape smARtsync. Is there a way to manually delete items in the conduit list?
Thanks,
Jim

I hot synched (using USB cable) with a 2nd PC, with all conduits set to do nothing, and still get a soft reset at the end (while Palm says "Cleaning Up - Please wait"). Still hoping to avoid a hard reset. Thanks for all your help so far.
Jim

The TX crashes with a soft reset at the end of every hot synch. No problems noted in log. It is cured by a warm reset. But, if after the warm reset, I do a soft reset, the problem comes back.

i am crrently having the same issue with my TX it started today. ikeep getting a soft reset after a hotsync. The most resent install was db6 and that was this after noon. And the soft resets started this morning and through out the day....
