I noticed during the short 19 years of my life that people tend to respect you more as a human being (unconsciously) when they observe (also unconsciously) that you have a high degree of social intelligence. If they perceive you have even the slightest bit lower amount of social intelligence, they begin to think you're "less cool" or something.
Unfortunately for me, I've struggled with 1) confidence and 2) reading others. It's sometimes difficult for me to understand instinctively how another is feeling. Has anyone been through these tough times, later to become very socially adjusted and charismatic?
