7960, jas0n, Jason, everybody else, you're all welcome to participate. But be forewarned, it's in On Topic, and On Topic rules will apply.

The part where they stop and search everyone to see if maybe somebody is doing something wrong:

Would you think it's reasonable if the police want to know if maybe there's a drug lab in your neighborhood, and close off the whole area and conduct door to door searches just to find out?

Legality in the United States
The Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution states that:

unless you happened to drive on an empty road, you do that everytime you pass a car/person.

No. I'm not.

Dixie argued that checkpoints for people driving is just as unconstitutional as checkpoints for someone simply leaving a bar and walking on a public sidewalk.

Christ man. Follow a fucking conversation.

Please try to prove you know more about the constitution than a supreme court justice.

In other words, if you want to assert "appeal to authority" you really should demonstrate knowledge at least equivalent to the other guy. So go..... What are your credentials?

Same in Maryland.

I drink and drive a couple times a month. Nothing like A beer with a good hamburger at a restaurant now and again. Now if I want to have 5 or 6 shots of Jack Daniels with my burger, I'll do the smart thing and stay at home and have a cook out.

Two buddies of mine both just got OVIs in Ohio. One blew a .225 and supposedly he's gonna plea down to wreckless opp. Other friend refused to blow. Not sure what's going to happen with him
