So you HAVE to get internet on a TMobile smartphone??

I have a tmobile flip phone but i want a smartphone. I dont know if i can pay for the internet so i was wondering if it were possible to purchase a smart phone from TMobile without internet... OR if anyone knows how much the internet would cost, i may be able to purchase it. HELP :) Thanks.
