but you can chose a contract as short as 1 year, with a 20 dollar plan compared to the iphones mandatory 2 year contract, with a 45 dollar minimum plan

Exactly, so I actually know first hand how much power 3G uses. I, however, have the OPTION to limit myself to EDGE and nearly double the battery life.

The iPhone has the best battery around because it's only using EDGE.

I have a pocketpc, but i dont always bring it with me, but it does fit nicely into my pocket and using bluetooth+cell phone / wifi i get internet and what-not. still, the screen isn't big enough

I'm a pretty knowledgable tech geek and I copped an iPhone. First off I am NOT an apple fan boy quite the opposite in fact. I barely got an iPod a year ago cause I was so anti apple. The iPhone is absolutely brilliant. The internet funtionality murders anything ever seen on a phone. Wap is garbage let's face it. I had a blackjack for 6 months before this and while 3g is nice, its NOT the full Internet. Plus the battery life is laughable. Apple made the roght decision to go with edge and wifi imho.

Google maps integration is much better than on my blackjack and obviously the media functions are as well.

Not quite sure people are bitching about non expandable memory since 8gb is more than enough. I have faith apple will offer firmware upgrades for some feature that are missing: mms, custom ring tones etc.

Btw I'm almost typing as fast with the iPhone keyboard as my bj qerty.
