which is why i find it strange apple have rellied on someone else so much in the iphone, they like to be fairly independant. I thought originally it would have been open to all/most networks.

i use about 3100 min pr month, and have for the past 6 years, why?

i know how it works and im ok with it as long as i get something in return, every other phone i get a couple hundred off for my mandatory plan, no such thing with the iphone

blackberry 8800 only costs 250, 500 less than an iphone, and honestly can do most of the same things, also has edge, has 3x the battery life (already hearing complaints about that) has more 3rd party apps, and has a better tactile feel with its keyboard,

ill take my bb8800 thanks

A few of my friends bought them... they are nice. I think they are overpriced though. I will get one when I can use it on t-mobile I think.

On the other hand, I have an htc wizard and have added functionality to make it do everything that an iPhone can do, except of course the two finger touching as that's a hardware thing.

The iPhone doesn't cost any more per month than any PDA phone. All of AT&T's PDAs require an unlimited data package. You pay 20 bucks for a smartphone and 40 bucks for a PDA. This is tacked onto a base plan- and doesn't even include any text messaging.

All the iPhone plans are really just the standard rate plans with the data charge already tacked on. That's all.

it's proprietary bandwagon overpriced garbage... anything they make there is an equivalent device that can do it for at least half the price.
