In addition to the gamecube buttons, the classic controller has like another Z-button, a Select button, and an analog stick in place of the C-stick, which is still pretty much the same thing.
and the controller layout. Looking at that Classic controller I couldn't imagine playing most GameCube games on that thing, you just get used to playing certain games on certain controllers.
That being said, I suck at Street Fighter on my 360 controller, but I'm good at it when they have the single analog stick and the 2 rows of 3 buttons for a total of 6 buttons, like the classic arcade.
Most of the games that the Classic Controller was designed for don't have the rumble feature in the game itself, so I couldn't really see that as a negative
Though, it would be missed on some of the N64 titles on the Virtual Console. I wonder if there is anything they can do to change this?
as far as i understand, yes. the problem is that when you play a gamecube game, ALL of the wii's features, wireless internet, bluetooth wireless, etc are not functional. so when you play a gamecube game, you are basically playing with ONLY the gamecube hardware.
Shouldn't that be pretty obvious that you buy a "classic controller" to play the classic games? Take it back if you're that upset, a GameCube controller is only ~$10 more
