I'm working through it.
I'll be at work, in a shitty ass hanger fixing airplanes that have no hope of flying for weeks. See, things work like this, if there is a problem, the people involved evacuate for safety. But my command has decided that the people that work for them have nothing to worry about, despite sending all flight capable aircraft to another state.
I'm not overly worried about this hurricane, I don't think it's going to be as bad as most others over the past few years, but for fuck sake, can we let the people that have children go someplace safe?
I live only a few minutes away from the base, but there is a bridge about half a mile long that I have to drive across. Wile it's not a bad or unsafe bridge, it is right on the water. The wind blowing across this thing on a sunny day is enough to knock semi's around, and on bad days makes my Jeep dance rather badly. I even have evidence to suggest that I (well, my jeep any way) was hit by lightning driving across it about a month ago.
I hope this turns into nothing, but I have a bad feeling about this week.
We're storing up fresh water in my Apt, filling the Jeeps up with fuel, and checking on our canned food. I'm trying to be as prepared as possible, but you never know.
