If the shit hits the fan in the us it will be even worse everywhere else, besides places with sustainable local economies

They were talking about having oil denominated in euros a few years ago, imagine how big of a shitshow that would be

actually thats exactly what Iran did with their oil and of course we want to bomb them into oblivion

china can't call in shit

all they can do is dump their us securities on the open market and take a bloodbath, tanking the usd in the process but then presumably they would have to untether their currency from the usd (i could be wrong so if i am someone with knowledge please correct me on this)

china can tank the dollar but they would lose a big portion of their surplus and also don't forget there are several sovereign wealth funds (swf) out there trading and i'm assuming that's all denominated in usd so why would you want to stop playing at the world's largest casino?

At some point it will become worthwhile for China to decouple from the dollar, to be more specific that will probably be when nobody wants to sell their oil for dollars. That would, of course, be due to devaluation eg. Inflation

you're talking about a country that killed babies for population control and starved 70 million of it's own.
You really think they wouldn't if their version of a cost/benefit analysis comes out on the other side?
