You are focusing on a silly point. I wasn't saying it was a language. My point was that I don't speak any derivative of Spanish, nor is my husband from Mexico as was somewhat implied when I said he was here on a green card, but that the spanish they speak is different from the spanish they speak in spain.

What happens when they approach an American Citizen and detain him because *they* think he/she is illegal.

You can't detain American Citizens and force them to provide information they are here legally.
