i changed my controls on teh ps3 to the classic controlls so X is the gas Square is the brake/reverse and O is the ebrake

its different because ps2/ps3 have analog face buttons while the 360 doesnt... so on ps2/ps3 you can use either [],X or the triggers for driving

Considering that braking and accelerating are variable and respond differently to the pressures you apply to the trigger buttons, having it any other way would be idiotic. Especially braking... if you just slam down the trigger your brakes lock up and the car becomes difficult to turn. Much like an actual car.
