so is anybody else concerned with the direction the USA is heading?

i'm too poor to worry about politics. too busy trying to raise my kids and take care of my wife.

the confederacy as we know it was still a consortium of states, and there were bigger underlying factors in that.

i don't envision it being drastically different than things are now. just that all the inefficiencies of having a centralized federal government are eliminated by delegating it all through each individual state.

that fosters capitalism better imho. you don't have redistribution of california tax money to some bumfuck town in kansas. it keeps tax money in the hands of the individual state, and allows them to legalize pot/gay marriage/govern under whatever law the people approve of, rather than having some sort of ludicrous federal ban on things

it's not ideal for sure. but i don't think any economic theory can ever be ideal. just like governing theory.

pretty much the same discussion that goes on all the time, for all time, throughout history, in every empire and nation

shades of grey

isolationism carried out literally would never work

but we should at least concentrate on fixing our own shit before we try to solve the worlds problems

Anyone with half a brain...should be very concerned. We're on the cusp of a very serious time in our lives right now. No joke.

Its been a very crafty, slow and deliberate plan to lead us into a one world global government system, which was just a loony "conspiracy" 20-40 years ago, but now its blatantly admitted by world leaders practically all the time now. A centralized government which stands to threaten whatever little sovereignty the U.S. even has left.

There is a bigger awakening now more than ever to this fact, but the other side is still a step ahead as far as the over all masses of people. For now, I wont lose hope for something shaping up for the better. But I know there is going to be a lot more pain and suffering before that ever happens. Whether it be economic collapses, global "natural" disasters, foreign invasions, totalitarian government takeovers or civil war/revolution.
