So I quit smoking pot

Well, since your posts are both from biased sources themselves I'd say you're lacking evidence yourself. Do you honestly expect me to take you seriously when you use links that are so strongly pro-pot as to be unreliable at all?

Major cancer risk: any time you repeatedly inhale smoke, you are drastically increasing your risk of lung cancer. The predominant form of consumption is smoking. I'm at work so I don't have my crayons to draw a picture.

Major health risk: Recent studies indicate a strong link between repeated use of marijuana and schizophrenia or other psychotic breaks. This has been widely discussed here on wtf.com in recent weeks.

Major health risk: long term repeated exposure to THC has shown a strong history of the degradation of short term memory and other cognitive skills. Again, the crayons are at home but this is a WIDELY known health issue.

You keep trying to compare it to other alternatives. Knock it off. This isn't a comparison discussion about which is worse. It's a discussion about the health risks of pot. I don't care if alcohol is worse, if bears shit in the woods or if the tire on my truck is flat, none of those things have anything to do with the health risks of pot.

Don't mistake what I'm saying for me being anti-pot. Trust me, I'm not. I just don't like it when people purposefully misstate facts to push their own agenda. If we're going to have an honest debate or any real chance at reform in this country we have to stop spouting off about how great weed is and acknowledge that it IS a drug and has consequences. It has be be accurately judged and discussed if we're going to see anything legal changes.

Agreed. Especially in todays interwurb world, you can find any "fact" you want on the net.

Yup. And in the debate about legalization the minute to deny the ill affects of pot you lose any credibility you might have had. You have to accept that it has ill affects and address them rationally. Denying them just makes you look like a pot head tool to those that don't want to hear it.

It's an uphill battle at this point and playing straw man with the arguments or simply denying the problems just makes it a harder hill to climb.

I quit after getting into some trouble and I love being clean. I can think better and I don't need to worry about getting caught.

One of my friends that lives close-by is getting an ounce so I'm lending him 100 bucks and he's giving me his iPod video as collateral for when he pays me back.

He's also giving me a free gram for helping him out so I'm gonna blaze one day when nobodys home and just get baked.

Now he's not fucking answering his phone. I've got a bad feeling about this. Fuck.

I only smoke when I have the chance, and I don't have anything that needs to be done in the next couple of hours.

That being said, I don't smoke nearly as much as I did in high school. =/

Dude you never loan money to any one that is scoring. That's a good way to get burned.
You said he's not answering your call. You better find that fool and beat the crap outta him.

You think you gotta quit smoking the ganja. Last year when I went back east my pilot had been smoking weed and he flew the plane with no problems. I also noticed that the stewardess had been smoking it too. They smelled like weed and they where all giggling.
When we landed he landed like crap. Hm I could have landed the plane better. So if you work in the airlines industries you can still smoke it. Just not during classes.
