It depends on who you are. I am at college, work or home 90% of the time, all which have free wi-fi for me. So that works. The times I'm not, I have been using GPRS, which if I recall is even slower than EDGE and I have been living with it for two years now.

If it works for you, get the iPhone, if not, yes, there are many other great phones out there, probably even more pretty soon thanks to the iPhone.
