So I bought an exhaust system for my jeep and now.....?

I bought an exhaust system for my jeep cherokee with the understanding that the man I live with (my soon to be ex shh he doesn't know it) would be able to install it himself. Well turns out that he is full of shit and is not able to install it himself. So now I have to pay a professional to do it. I cant return the part because it is too late to. Problem is the exhaust system cost 200 and to install it will be another 200 (i've called several shops) the vehicle is only worth 250 according to NADA.

My question is would you be mad at this guy? Because I am beyond pissed. I mean I am now out $ because of his lie I would not have bought the part if it weren't for him saying "he'd take care of it"

You're right I should be mad at myself for being stupid enough to believe that moron was capable of thaking care of anything.
Him pay for it? Puhlease it has taken him 10 weeks and still has not come up with $20 for another issue. He makes more money than I do to and lets me know it on a daily basis.
 
Pay to get it put on and quit whining! What difference does it make how much the Jeep is worth NONE! If you just found out that this guy is a lying looser and it only going to cost you $200.00 count your blessings.
 
No, I wouldn't be mad at this guy. I would be mad at you for being an idiot and buying an exhaust that costs as much as the car.
 
If the motor runs it is worth $500 , according to common sense. If it has 4 good tiers and rims , it is worth $800, NADA must have had an off day. In junk or scrap it is worth $950+.
Exhaust system is easy, no moving parts, is just dirty and normally seized bolts and stuff.
$200 to install is not that bad, $55 an hour, is a 3-4 hour job.
Now exhaust system, you mean entire system or a tailpipe.Entire system is Exhaust Manifold, Headers, a bunch of clamps and other hardware, Catalytic Converter, Muffler, and exhaust pipe.
Make up with your man, if he hasnt cheated on you or beat you up, make up with him and have him pay for the repair that he cannot do.
Then live life and be happy.
