So my ex-husband and his brother and sister were military brats so they've made friends probably everywhere. The issue I always had was that they all seem to be a little lost, and confused about who they are (black.) I say this not only because the three of them seem to always put down other blacks, but my ex-husband actually made the following statement when I asked him why he had no black friends. "so what, your mad because I don't hang on the corner with my pants sagging, a fourty in my hand, and getting high." Being from Cali, this was a huge shock that he responded this way. I speak very proper to most black people, so I don't think I meant the question in that way.
His sister told me she only dates whites guys because they didn't mind that she was skinny. Um...not every white/black guy likes only thick women, many like small women. I will say this though...she doesn't take care of herself especially her hair which ours is taken care of a lot differently.
His brother is gay, but he always disses his black friends, and puts his white ones on a pedistool.
I have friends of many different races, and nationalities, but why do the three of them seem to just hate being black?
When I married my husband, everyone (including his family) said they were surprised he married a black girl. Am I just dumb and naive, because I am confused as to why they feel if they are friends, or married to a white person, somehow they are better then blacks.
Honestly, part of the reason I separated from my ex was because of his family. I've never met anyone like them before and am relieved to be gone, but...my friend just entered the very same situation however it's vise-versa
