WRT54G on a college network... which FUCKS everything up because of how they have it setup... well to actually have a WORKING router I have to use DD-WRT, and apparently people are having problems with the Wii and DD-WRT firmware...

I have my router setup like this: (I am on a college network)

Internet Connection is Disabled

IP: 10.1.86.144
DHCP: 10.1.86.1
Gateway: 10.1.80.1

My router basically acts like a switch and an AP...

Forwards all connections to 10.1.86.1 for DHCP...

I can see the Wii on the Wireless Status screen, but the Wii can not get any connection to the internet...

My laptop can access the internet wirelessly just fine

The Wii doesn't like WPA encryption possibly? Try using a WEP key instead.

People have told me to switch from WEP to WPA...

Change all kinds of shit also... Nothing has worked so far

I dunno about the Wii, but the DS definitely does not work with WPA you have to have it set on WEP. Maybe it's the same way?

Try setting Network to "B Only" since the Wii is B. Maybe that's causing the problem?

Is your Router set to G-Only, if it is, set it to "Mixed", that was my problem.

Try switching to channel 11 too.

mine seems to be getting a signal but i keep getting a wii connect24 error or somthing anybody getting that one?
