My math teacher is from Iran and she told our class that we get extra credit if we can learn to do the snap she does. She doesn't use her thumb at all, I'm pretty sure it's her ring finger that she uses? She said it was a cultural thing from her country, and that the snaps we do with our middle finger and thumbs are called "baby snaps" there, whereas the one she does is the more grown up snap.
Can anyone help?

Look what happens when you snap - the sound comes from your finger hitting your palm, not from the thumb. The thumb is just there to hold the finger back until you're ready to release it.

So, just practice at hitting your finger against your palm fast enough without holding it back with the thumb.
