But your points were all useless and proven by Boycott. Sure all of these things you mentioned pollute the world, but guess what? They are NEEDED. What do smokers need to smoke for? It's a useless habit that does nothing but kill you, me, and your bank account.

I myself don't really have a problem with any smokers I know, the only reason I am getting into this topic at all is the smokers going crazy about blah blah blah boycotts a bitch blah blah blah smoking owns. Also, comparing gambling or drinking to smoking is retarted. Smoking effects everyone in the world, gambling doesn't, nor does drinking.
 
I dont get how smokeing is kool? 1st ur life is going down the drain faster ur money is too. So one ciggi then its going to be two then a pack then... so one ciggi can be a diff i would never smoke and some how i did i would stop even if is like not fucking if it is that addictive then i dont care i will STOP.

Boycott, what you need to remember here is that these methods are not perfected yet. Solar power is all fine and dandy as long as the sun's out. Now, one suggestion for this might be to put of satellites with mirrors or something to reflect the light so that we could have energy all the time, but space is already polluted enough by us, and think about how much money that would take. Straight electric cars won't work either. Do you really think people are going to want to, or even remember to, plug in their cars every night? ( I know that's kind of a misnomer, but you get the idea.) People want to be able to drive their cars any time they want. That was the idea behind the hybrid car (which is a really good idea that they're improving all the time from what I hear), to combine fossil fuel and electricity, less polution, and less gas used. The problem is not the general population so much as it is the oil companies. My science teacher freshman year of high school once said that if one of us could come up with a way to make cold fusion work we would become rich beyond our wildest dreams, but we would have to watch our backs because the oil companies would kill us to keep their product as the dominant power source. The people at the head of large oil companies try to keep hybrid cars on the sidelines because they don't use as much gas. Yay, capitalism!
 
Thats all very true... Honda, apperantly is constantly working on hybrid cars... I've seen them, and they run amazingly... they have a rechargable battery that actually charges while you drive, and all of it is pretty much electronic... As for the solar power : If there was enough electricity, between hydro power, wind power and solar power, we would have next to no pollution coming from the power...

People wouldn't need to use solar power, however, for everything... Maybe large companies who operate only in the day could have solar panels on their rooves, or on the actual company, and create their own power rather than using power from the city, or individual houses could have solar panels to produce enough electricity to run their air conditioning. All of this would cut down on what we're using as a whole, and get rid of this need for electricity.


Back to the car topic : In autobody I read an article about a guy who made an engine to run off of peanut oil / french fry grease... Next to no emissions and it ran just like a normal car... If this guy were to sell this idea to a big car company, we could probably have a cleaner environment, once implemented on cars ...

There are other fuel sources, still to be discovered, like cold fusion, as you said but until we do discover them, we have to bow down to the oil industry.
 
Exactly the point. Its a waste of time (of researches and your own), government money (as well as your own) and its just ... useless...

you know what I'd like to do... is go down to a church one day and see how many people light up right when they get outside... then kindly and calmly say, "You know the lord didn't put you here to contract cancer..."
 
I would like to add that the car companies are trying hard to come out with a reliable sorce to replace gas. GMC has come very far on the hydrogen cell desing, the exaust is water and oxygen. They also have a way to run that HC on fossil fuels, as gas is a hydrocarbon. problem, its expensive and not applicable yet. as for polution, 1 volcanic euroption produces more harm to the enviorment then anything else. And i wouldn't go as far to say gambling and drinking is worse tha smoking, I've never seen anyone become unruley cause they were under the influince of a cigeret. I've never seen anyone go bankrupt cause of cigerets. Cigerets are a problem, however I feel there are so many other problems that are causing more harm witch should be addressed first. If some one smoking next to you bothers you, and you tell them, and they say fuck off, that person was a prick. I smoke but not around people when there eating, or if theres someone in the car who does'n smoke, or if it bother's some one, and expesily around kids. If a person doesn't have morals don't blame the minority, blame that person. Pregudice can be worse that smoking, trust me.

Drinking may not effect everyone in the world,but the people at home.Drinkers could abuse there childern and get into fight.

My mom is an drinker you know how hard it is to deal with that when I was a child. She got into a fight with my dad and she went to jail (not for long).And she cuts herself about 7 scares on her wrist she had to get stiches and went to the ER.

My uncle was only 27 when he died from drinking he died in our home and I had to watch him die. :sad:

People don't smoke to be cool. They might start for that reason, but nobody continues to do it to look cool, it's an addiction.

What pathetic is discriminating against people for being smokers, like some straight edge faggot. If you don't like it, fine, but nobody asked you to approve of what we do.

I'm not meaning to generalize, its just coming out that way ... Hell, I'm probably not even saying what I'm meaning... The world is just getting to me... You are smart about what you do, and I know that and I have known that for a while... You've made your point that if you could stop, you would... All that I can hope is that people will stop and think, and at least try to quit... and if they can quit, that will take a lot of stress off of the world's problems... I agree there are somewhat worse things, but when a certain % of the number of deaths / year is caused by a human-made product you know there's a problem.
 
Not really. Whenever someone buys a pack of cigarettes, the taxes they pay on it go to the government. And, depending on where you are, the taxes are more or less hefty.
