First off any addiction kills. Are you telling me that if I am a heroin addict I am better than a smoker?

I think you are making a generalized statement based on your infantile hatred of your parents.

Yes I smoke. Yes it is an addiction.

Do you drink? Drinking is an addiction too, and dont give me that shit about it being better than this or that.

If it is a drug, it can be addictive. You can not make justifications to make one you like better than one you dont like.

Also, for those of you who are uneducated, the chemicals in cigarettes cause a chemical reaction in the brain of some people, especially people with addictive personalities, which is highly eurphoric and almost the same chemical reaction from other drugs, such as heroin.

You have to wond why it is still legal???? My state gets like a dollar a pack of smokes in taxes...
 
Smoking is my only vice. Everyone needs a vice, we're human.

Basically, if I don't smoke (which I wish I didn't or at least curbed it) then I will have no vices and I would be superhuman. Since I am not a superhuman, I will smoke.

Lately I've been experimenting with a new vice. I have been drinking. It hasn't been bad but I don't want to be a drinker. And by drinker I mean alcoholic because lately booze is just too easy for me. Must get out of funk.

But I'm straying from the topic.

Smoking IS the worst habit out there regardless of what anyone says. To compare it to Gambling is a joke whoever did so, gambling doesn't effect others negatively as smoking does.

you just got a new TV, if i understood correctly. A $600.00 bike at one point, animals that you can play with, at least 2 computers in your home, your father has an older car that he likes to fix up im assuming there are cars that are actually driven. you dont seem that poor to me. You come off as such the obnoxious little twat. How spoiled are you? Your 16(?) you dont know what money is yet. I highly doubt your family has very little money because they smoke. they probably own a home? pay for groceries, pay so you can wash your hair, pay so you can have lights on, pay so you can come online and talk here, pay for the animals food, if they want to spend 60.00 a week on cigarettes thats their perogative.

i cant seem to understand why you didnt mention watching somebody die from smoking in your initial post rather then the lack of money you have because they choose to smoke. seems like its a bigger concern to you that you didnt get what you want.
 
You obviously never had a gambler in your family. Usually, gambling and drinking go together and I've seen many a family or life go to shit because of someone's nasty gambling habits. Not saying all drinkers are gamblers but most gamblers are drinkers.

A bad habit is a bad habit. They're all fucked up. Not one is better than the other.

Personally, if you don't understand the addiction then you have no right to judge. Well, you have no right to judge anyway. If you don't want to smoke or drink or gamble or take drugs or whatever else, then don't but don't fucking knock people who have a problem.

P.S. The reason that Boycott more than likely put in about his birthdays is that he is making an example. Sure it is kind of a selfish example, but today in this world there is more drastic ones where kids aren't getting food because their asshat parents have to light up every 7 seconds of the day. These are the people that set me off. The people that neglect their kids, family, and themselves because they feel the need to cough.


P.S. # 2. Cannonball, yes bad habits are bad habits. Gambling only effects one person, a family at most. It is a sad story just about every time, but what is gambling? A gamble. It's a risk.

Smoking hurts others, and me every time someone lights up there chems. Does it hurt me and others when some drunken fuckhead gambles all his lot of shiny pennies away because he's too fucking stupid to walk away? Don't give me bullshit about gambling.
 
that's why I stopped when I got a new bf..I now have replaced my addiction with salmiak/candy/chocolate...You can never get rid of an addiction just change it to another form ;)

but still, i agree with the topic creator, smoking should be banned, smokers should stop smoking.

It ruins my life, not that I smoke, I'll never do, but everyone in this house smokes, and that's why I'm always outside, it contributed some crap for my OCD, and I never see my family.

I feel so emo right now :mfinger: :P

Honestly, as a non-smoker, how often are you in a position to be susceptible to second hand smoke? If and when you are, Is it in a public place? Outside? In a place where people traditionally smoke? A bar? It's not like you have smokers blowing smoke in your face constantly.

So blame people for being shitty parent's, not for being smokers. Furthermore, smoking is an addiction, not something people do to be mean to their children.

I do agree that parent's shouldn't smoke around their children though, it's negligent and poor parenting.
I think I'd be ok with a ban on public smoking, but saying that all smokers should stop just because you don't is retarded and childish.

It's no different than wacko religious groups saying that all drinkers should stop.
