Smokers.

I fucking hate smokers. I can't stand to be around them. Most of them are stupid, slow shitheads with nothing other to do than to complain about money. My parents are both smokers their whole life... I've been begging them to quit for my whole life, and I'm fucking sick of their whining shit. We either don't have enough money to do stuff, or they're too lazy to. Why are they lazy? Perhaps because their lungs are too charred up from the cigarette smoke, or stricken with cancer.

My parents ALWAYS complain about money. Money shit this, Money shit that... I've always told them exactly how much a year they're spending on cigarettes if they smoke a carton a week... I used 60 as a figure /price / carton and I got just over 3,000 dollars... My dad just recently bought a 47" projection TV with his 1,400 dollar profit sharing, instead of a pool, which was the original plan... Now, with an extra 3,000 dollars / year (or roughly 240$/month) I think that we could have a nice, inground pool with everything to go with it, top of the line etc... The other thing my dad wanted to do with his profit sharing, was fix up his '63 Imapala... Now, with his 1,400 dollar profit sharing, and the extra 3,000 dollars / year we're spending on cigarettes, that makes 4,400 dollars... My dad could "pimp" his Impala for that, and still have a bit for gas (as it guzzles it ever so much, which is why he can't drive it[not to mention insurance]) ...

Also : I'm kind of pissed off since every year for my birthday they've gotten me nothing. It started a while ago; I think my best present was my bike... 600$, great bike... I loved it... Then one year I got a bird... I didn't ask for a bird... I asked for money... I got a bird... After that, I got a cat... I never asked for a cat... I got cats... The next year I got an uber computer... It could run just about any game I wanted (we had GTA : Vice City running on it and everything... it was elite...)... It was okay, until my mom told me, after we bought it and had it for a week that my mom and dad were keeping it for themselves and gave me some piece of shit that hardly ran anything... On my 16th birthday, I asked for a decent graphics card, with TV out... Thats all I asked for, No car, Nothing expensive... A decent graphics card with TV out... I get a writing tablet. A twenty dollar writing tablet. This writing tablet didn't even work, so we took it back, and thinking back to what I wanted got me a Mercury TV Tuner card... A TV tuner card has TV in, so you can watch TV using your monitor as a screen... What I wanted was a graphics card (that was bigger than 64mb) with TV out on it... Nope, didn't get that...

With an extra 240$ per month, I think that my family would be a lot happier, but do they see that? No. I don't understand how hard it is to NOT BUY FUCKING CIGARETTES. Its pathetic. If you smoke : You're pathetic.

The way I see smokers, is people with no interest in the well being of others, or the well being of the environment. See, Notice how I'm not arguing the points of "SMOKING WILL KILL YOU", but rather the monetary points.

Fuck.

There's really no way to explain how much I hate people who smoke. They say its sooo hard to quit... I see this hard to believe, as I think it would be a lot easier to spend your money on nice things, and just resist temptations to say to a store clerk "One pack of DeMaurier Regular", while handing over money to him, and taking the pack of paper, plant and chemical. I know that most of you are going to say "Its addicting, you've obviously never been addicted to anything before"... Thats where you're wrong, though, I've been in and out of addictions, and addictions that would never hurt anyone as horribly as smoking could. Addictions that never cost a family their happiness, or stop people from giving their kids what they want for their birthdays...

One last word : Cigarettes are lame. They should be banned in all parts of the world, and people who continue to smoke, should be hung. Be it loved one or not, if you smoke, I'd rather see them hung than smoking.

you should quit (and i'm not just saying that empty heartedly, as I couldn't care more what it does to your health, but it WILL make you happier.)

FCC : That remark was terrible.

I don't like smoking anymore, it's not enjoyable. I don't even know if it ever was... seems that way though. I've tried to quit but I've always failed, maybe one day I'll be able to quit. Who cares though?

I don't think you should be so concerned about other's actions though. Much less attack an entire group of people with generalizations, diatribe and stereotypes. Your whole approach works against you.

But I digress, this is life sucks...

Ehh, It affects me, and it seems (with few exceptions) that most smokers are ill-mannered and just uninformed... Its the same with people who smoke marijuana and don't understand what serotonin is... Its like people who take extacy and don't understand why their organs aren't working as well as they used to, or why they're in such a shitty mood...

Ugh, All these are why I'll always be clean, no smoking, no drugs etc... The costs of it all adds up as well...

As for generalizations, I didn't mean to... I just really needed to type a lot of what I was thinking ... What better place than my favorite rant forum :)

Ahh well, Jung, I can't think differently about you because you smoke...

As for FCC... I think I lost a little bit of respect right there for him

Dude, I take this epidemic quite seriously... Smoking is a horrible trend... I wish I were powerful enough to make huge changes in law and such... But I'm not :( I'm just 16... I can't even persuade my parents to quit how the hell am I going to make a whole lot of people quit?

Maybe if I died they'd understand, but until I get some sort of cancer specifically connected to second hand smoke, I don't think thats going to happen any time soon

"Most of them are stupid, slow shitheads"

"people who continue to smoke, should be hung"

Well now. Sorry you feel that way. Yes, I, a smoker, feel bad for you. How old are you anyways? To me it doesn't seem like a post about how you 'hate smokers' and want them all dead or some shit, but that you're just cranky because you couldn't get what you wanted for your birthday. You should be thankful that you get anything compared to how many children don't. My mother is also a smoker, when I was younger I did try to convince her not to smoke, but I got older and made a stupid decision. Now I'm a smoker. I know what it can do to me and yet I still smoke. Mostly when I'm stressed out. But you know, people make bad decisions. I'm sure that you have. But that doesn't give you the right to say you think that all smokers are a. patheic, b. should be hung, etc. You hate all smokers, you hate your parents? There are many many people in this world that waste their money on things they shouldn't, and there are far FAR worse addictions, more expensive no less, that they could be wasting their money on. (gambling, cocaine, etc.)

Anyways, I can't say I can relate in how you feel about this, considering it's intensity you have on the subject. But as do I, you have the right to your own opinion, I just don't think it should have went that far.

Hey, Boycott, don't hate the smoker, hate the people who, despite knowing how unhealthy it is, still produce the shit, and even add addicting chemicals to it (I don't think nicotine occurs naturally in tobacco) in order to keep customers buying, just because it's so profitable.

as i said before, i probably generalized a lot more than i should have in that... and I agree, that the birthday part took up a lot more than it should have ... but it was an example of how little money we have due to their addiction...

I think a lot of it comes from bad past experiences... I watched my grandfather die from cancer ... He was a big man, and when he died he was all skin and bones... It was terrible...

When I was little I always got cigarette smoke blown in my face etc... Now I can't even stand the smell of second hand smoke... I choke when I go near it etc... I can remember a few times coughing up food because someone started smoking near me...

But it seems to me, also, that the only people complaining about my generalizations are smokers themselves...

Thats very true... You know what would be funny, is if due to all of the CO2 that smoking releases, the greenhouse effect makes conditions unsuitable for tobacco to grow... Ironing...

How rich, exactly is the owner of [insert cigarette company here]

I don't smoke; the smell gives me a headache. I also tend to avoid smokers when they are smoking.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, but you can't go around hating people for making bad decisions. I know how it is; more than half of my family smokes (nobody in this house, thankfully). My cousin has really bad asthma from his mother smoking constantly. But if you were to ask someone how they quit smoking, they'd tell you that it's very painful. It usually is. Your body becomes hooked on the nicotine. Not to mention that habits are very hard to break, period, even without the addictive chemicals. How many people do you know that can give up something they've been doing for years just like that? Can you do it?

Just saying, dude, that may be your opinion, but you shouldn't be so judgmental about it. Smoking's a very hard habit to break. Habits are hard to break period. Can't blame somebody if they've failed to quit doing something, whether it be smoking or anything else.

EDIT: I just read the above post. The guy who is in charge of the tobacco, Philip Morris (is that his name), is really wealthy. And yeah, the ironing would be overwhelming...

I can blame them if they haven't tried...

Also : While googling stuff about it; I found this interesting statistic... Tobacco is a $200 billion industry, producing six trillion cigarettes a year - about 1,000 cigarettes for each person on earth. ... If you take out the non-smokers... thats quite a lot of cigarettes for all of the smokers...

It just sickens me how someone can spend money on something that they don't NEED, and then complain about how little money they have...
