My car hasn't been accelerating properly. I replaced the spark plugs & wires, fuel filter, new battery, and alternator. I was told that I need to replace my tensioner pulley since it's squealing, but my car won't accelerate past 30 MPH. I was told it could be my catalytic converter but I have passed 2 smog tests within the past year. I had my car at a auto hobby shop trying to figure out the problem and when they hooked my car up to a pre-smog test (one to see if my car could pass a 'real' test) I was told my emissions were low and that it was a good thing. I just want to find the root to this problem because I haven't been able to drive my car for months now. Any help? I think it might be a sensor of some sort. I do know that I don't need a new transmission. My check engine light is on too.
