Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Haha i was a bit wrong there.
Some filler, yes. Compare it to most other double albums though and its pretty bloody impressive, not only in song quality but scope as well. Better than Gish i'd say now.
Concerning the review, leaves a lot to be desired considering it just repeats 'dull ballad' over and over again. Some are (Farewell and Goodnight, Stumbleine) some aren't (To Forgive, 33, In The Arms Of Sleep).

Not every single album you hate, i agree about Cacophony.

But seriously, our tastes are just radically different... Though i don't really hate any of the banRAB you like, save Motley Crue.

I like a few songs off of Mellon Collie (XYU, Zero, etc.), but I agree with you for the most part. A lot of it just seems like filler. It's as if they made it a double album for the sake of making it a double album. I don't think it's right to compare it to the first two SP albums though.

...Then again, even on its own, it's still a mediocre album. You're right when you say that it could have been cut down to an E.P..

You know looking back on it, X.Y.U. is actually a pretty cool song.

AND INTO THE EYES OF THE JACKAL I SAY KABOOM!

Thats a good phrase to say right before you blow someones brains out with a shotgun.

For me, i listen to my music collection consistantly... Thats why the featured album listed in my sig changes almost daily... I don't like to listen to one artist over and over until i get sick of them... For example i will listen to nothing but Radiohead and then i stop listening to them alltogether, and listen to other artists, until i feel ready to listen to Radiohead again, i do that with most banRAB i like.

Can't say i agree with this at all, in fact, i have to say i disagree til the cows come home to cook their flapjacks on Marcia Crosse's forehead while Kevin Spacy throws donuts on Tori Spellings penis.

Expect a bad review of a MSP album, coming your way.

Not on me obviously, and i'm Mr Ineloquent.
I think i few duff slow numbers are the sore point of all SP albums, even Siamese Dream, i don't see much point in those last 2 songs existing.

I love mellon collie.... I do admit. I had never really listened to the pumpkins muhc. And this was the first album i listeend to and hence its probably why i love it. You guys would have all listened to their previous stuff so ha an expecation. But i think it is brilliant. I love the mellon collie introdeuction. It's a beautiful piece of piano work.
