hello every body i am looking to buy a smart Phone i am just want a phone that i can have 1-2 gb of space and camera but there is alot of them out there so plz help me choose a good one. thx

i just bought the Tmobile Dash.

Its very nice. Slim, 1.3mp camera, Windows Mobile. Its the perfect device for me, that is until the Samsung i607 comes out. But you should look into the T-mobile Dash, it seems like a good contender for you.

tjash:

i noticed that you had a BB Pearl, but like the Dash.
I am trying to decide which to get. What could you tell me about one over the other?
thanks

Dash has a QWERTY keyboard and runs WM 5.

The Pearly uses SureType with takes a bit of getting used to and runs a stable as heck BB O/S.

I suggest you look at the T-Mo site and do a side by side comparison. Only you know what you need/want.

Well the guy above me said it all basically. I liked both devices alot but prefer the Dash over the Pearl because the Qwerty Keyboard. Thats about the only thing.

I am not sure about the operating system. Although I do like it (WM5) I think I would rather have the BB operating system because it just felt speedier when using it. But then again that could be because the Blackberry has a 312mhz Intel processor while the Dash only uses a 200mhz Omap processor.

Really the only good thing that Dash has over the Pearl is the Qwerty keyboard. Well and the screen is bigger, but then again the Pearl is smaller as far as width goes.

As the guy above me said, you really do have to go do some side by side comparison. Unless you know you would rather prefer the Qwerty keyboard over the Suretype.

Suretype isnt as bad as everyone says it is. As long as your not used to Qwerty you can learn it rather quickly.

So do some real life comparisons, and choose what you feel comforable with.

If you have ANY other questions, dont hesitate to ask. I am happy to help.

i just wish i could use each for 2 days and then choose!
i like qwerty but i hear overall better things about the bb. i really like the bb online tutoral at http://www.blackberrypearl.com/. its extensive. ug this is not easy. i wish i could see into the future as to which i'd like better!

i keep hearing how unstable windows os is...is it basically windows 93 or 95? is that why its unstable?

i will be buying it off ebay. i just need to update my tmobile acct to include the $20/$30 monthly web fee, right, then i will be to utilize all the features? there wont be an issue that i didnt buy it through tmobile?

thank!!

Well the Windows OS isnt unstable, its just not as fast as it cuold be which i think is do largely in part of the processor in the phone.

I means its not laggy laggy it just isnt fast. You would eventually get used to it.

Anyways you can just get the 5.99 t-zones plan and be able to utilize all the features on the phone. T-mobile cant tell what phoen your using. I know almost everyone on this bored who owns a Dash only has the 5.99 t-zones plan. If they ask you what phone your using just say a Razr or something, as I said, they cant check.

lets try it this way, what will you be doing with this device? like frequent email, web browsing. Or would you be doing moderate browsing, etc.?

Explain to me what you'll be doing with the device, and maybe i can determine which would be best for you that way.

wow, youre really nice to help me like this! thank you!

i will be using it mostly as my main phone and browsing/shopping. a little texting.

(if i get the bb, can i do the same thing as you mentioned with the $5.99 above? this will still let me browse, shop, etc? does this get me more than tzones?(

thank you thank you thank you!

Well heres what I would say.

Either phone would suit you considering you wont be doing tons of stuff on your phone. the only reason that you would/should consider a blackberry over the Pearl is if your doing excessive email, because thats what Blackberrys are famous for.

But with the Blackberry you cant use the tzones plan because Blackberry's have special servers that you HAVE to use. You can use any type of other plan.

I would say if you want to save some money I would say go with the Dash, you will save 25.00 a month. It does everything the Pearl does, it just doesnt have a world class email client.

Both phoens would be fine for you, but overall I would say the Dash becauese you have the oppurtunity to save so much money every month.

thanks for your help. i dont spose ou know of any way i could essentially rent each for a day or so for a trial without getting tied into either?

i hate making decisions like this without the testing ability! i almost wonder if i should keep using my crappy samsung freebie until the BB Crimson comes out inspring...? do you know anything about that?

Actually i do not know a way to do that. I havent ever came across a type of program like that.

Anyways, The Blackberry Crimson looks nice, but nothing really different from the pearl except the Qwerty keyboard. I would say if you wanted a Blackberry just get the Pearl. You wont be sorry. its a great phone. I just dont like how Blackberry makes you use their servers.

Another phone you can look into is the Samsung i320n. It seems like a good device for you. Qwerty, Slim, and has a 412mhz Intel processor, making it faster then both devices, which means Windows wont be slow.

All the devices are priced very similar. So pricing isnt a issue between the 3.

I have included a comparison of the 3 devices for your convience:

http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=896&id%5B%5D=1041&id%5B%5D=1053&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=

Actually the comparison is with the i320, not the i320n. They have essentially the same specs, its jus tthe i320n looks better in my opinion compared to the i320.

uh oh. now another phone to research! lol. thas cool. i assume the samsune works with tmobile, it says None for us carriers.

it almost seesm better than the other 2, looking only at the comparison link you sent me. have you owned it? if so, wat made you stop using it? if not, w\hat turned you off of it to buy?

Yes, it will work with T-mobile. It in factory unlocked so you can use it with any gsm carrier. T-mobile doesnt use the 850mhz band so it would be fine.

Actually i havent owned it yet because I have Cingular and they use the 850mhz band, so it wouldnt work well for me. I am waiting for the i607 to be released next week for Cingular, which is the same phone except for it has the 850mhz band.

besides the 850mhz band I would of had it ALONG time ago. I have heard so many good things about this phone.

I know plenty about the phone in general so if you have questions, let me know.

And defiently it is a better phone the both of them. It has everything that both of those phones have, except it is much more powerful.

i'm sure i will have questions once i research it more. major turn off right now is the $500 price tag.

than k you so much for everything. its time for dinner, but i will likely be annoying you more soon!
thanks...diane

No problem. Actually I think you can find them on ebay for aruond 400.00. I paid about that if not more for my blackberry and dash. Here are a few:

hi! thanks for asking!

you have me seriously considering the samsung! (if i can find it affordable) I'm used to checking cnet.com for reviews, but i didnt see one for the samsung. so the research is still on!

i just wish i could play with each for even a few mins. b4 choosing!

yes, I used to be like that where i wanted to test every phone but now i just figure if I dont like the phone i just resell it.

so good luck and let me know what your decide to do.

You can check out my auctions that I posted or tigerdirect has them in stock also, they are a little more but come from a big company.
