The "shoulder" of my fish's fin has been red for a while, and just today it turned seriously red, as if it were bleeding inside. I noticed this this morning, and at the same time I saw little white things in the gravel in the tank, plus some stuff that looks like fuzz on the bottom of the same fish. I've found some different things, but nothing says anything about my fish. Help?
I'm going to the store soon to see if I can get anything for it, but I wanted to see if anyone here knows what's wrong.
Since you asked for tank details, here you go:
My tank is 1 gallon. Every four days I use a cup and take out half of the water and replace it. I use a water pitcher that's intended to filter drinking water to filter water for the tank. I don't know any of the levels of anything in the water, I've never tested it. It has an air pump, no filter. I have three fish, I started out with two feeder fish (I "adopted" them from school), one goldfish and one minnow, I think. Later I got a plecostomus, I think it's called, from Petco, since I figured it'd be good to have a bottom feeder.
About the other fish... the minnow is swimming around like crazy, so I can't get a good look at him. But the plecostomus is on the wall like usual, but he has a really long string of poop coming out. I'm worried that they're starting to get affected too...
