small problem- searched- will paypal for help

in my quest to learn to flash, I took one of my CBeyond LG LX150 phones and tried to do a basic flash to it.

Heres what I did. Followed some steps from another site to try to get this to work-

1. Connected to LG Download tool and used the VX6000 dll.
2. Tried to NV Edit- it failed but supposedly put the phone in the right programming mode.
3. Closed LGDL, opened UniCDMA. Read SPC code and wrote to 6 0's.
4. Closed Uni
5. Used QPST to write 1040 PRL. Sucessfule. *228 gives me cricket activation
6. ESN is blank now. Uni fails to write. I do not know of another solution.

Any advice- i have searched high and low. I utilize and have QPST, Uni, LGDL, and of course programs for others models.
 
try cdmaworkshop to REPAIR the esn... always work for me when i try to REPAIR A LG esn... first write the esn "b0000000" then write the original esn

I MUST REMIND U THIS TO REPAIR!!! THE ESN...
 
*TIP: LG phones use a different method to read NV memory, so you must be careful when changing things like the MSL/SPC, etc. CDMA Workshop includes the LG methoRAB in its menus. The safest bet, however, is to use LG Download.
 
don't think you can use LG Download to change the MSL, but you can input the MSL if you know it to access NVEdit.

I use QPST to change the MSL, I believe thats the program.
 
I used Uni to change the MSl. It stuck fine. Cant write the ESN back to the phone though. I keep looking for some sort of method kinda like on the u340 where you have to enter programming codes and then its writes fine.

I have workshop- it wont run on my comp. It would be nice. Guess I will give BitPim a try and see what it can do. Thanks for the replies
 
cool- dl BitPim, got into the sys.esn file. 6 rows and a 7th blank row. now time to figure out where to write. is there a basic tutorial on reading this file system so I write to the correct row?

cool. saved to a file. edited with WinHEX, now trying to upload back into the phone via QPST. Will also try BitPim as QPST tells me "Error Code 111, Illegal Operation"
 
if your esn is all 0's on an LG, good luck getting it back. you may want to talk to amoamare. he's the expert at that. last time it happened to me, i sold the phone for 50 bucks on ebay and bought another for 75.
 
nothing working for me.

installed workshop- LG method will not write to phone.

i have dl all the nv items from the phone and am trying to learn hopw to scan or read this huge text file.

there has to be some way to re-write this ESN back to phone.

i have all sorts of tools and have tried everything from here and mobilefiles

any other advice/clues?
 
anything here? willing to possibly send a lg160 out to someone if they can tell me how to rewrite this ESN? getting real frustrated by this stupid phone.
