small private Lutheran college vs. a large state setting!?

I am deciding between two colleges at the moment. I either want to go to Wisconsin Lutheran College or University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. One is a VERY small private christian college, and the other one is a very large public school. I am wondering what the pros and the cons of each school would be. Has anyone ever went to these schools? Btw, WLC has about 800-900 kids attending, whereas UWM has about 5-6,000 or more. I know it is all based on personal preference, but what is your favorite? why? again, pros, cons?

right now I am mainly concerned about:

1. student body
2. experience (ie: social, intellectual)
3. dorm experience
4. s/t ratio. is it better to be in a smaller class setting or larger?
5. most importantly, I am wondering about the intergration of religion is at a lutheran school. I know they make you take mandatory theology courses (which i dont mind because i am Christian), but is religion going to be VERY strong there? I am not a very strong religious person. In fact, I do NOT regularly attend church. But I do believe in most of the principles of non-denominational Christianity.
6. As far as the state school, I am wondering about the overall experience graduating from there. I do plan on going to a better grad school. If I worked towards a 4.0, would I be able to get into a good grad school coming out of a small state college? (btw UWMilwaukee is not the BEST UW branch. UW Madison is!)

anyhow any answer helps. bigger the better. thanks for your help! :)
