SLVR L7 or a Sony Ericson W600i?

So my contract just expired, and i'm looking to seal another two-year deal. I've narrowed my choices down to the w600i and the SLVR. Which is a better overall phone? My budget's about $100 and i found both phones at the same promotional price. If there's anything else you think belongs on the list, please feel free to suggest.

Here's a little more info about myself: I'm currently a high school student that needs a "fun" phone to mess around with. I text message fairly often so a comfortable keypad is essential. Games are a plus, but not necessary (the occasional game of tetris is nice i guess). The camera isn't a big deal either; i have a 7.1 megapixel digital that i carry around in my back pocket.
Yeah, so i carry lots of junk around in my pocket so i prefer something small and light, or something i can whip out quickly from a belt holster. I need something somewhat sturdy too.
Of course, the "whoa what kind of phone is that?" factor is always nice. I like customizing my stuff. Can I use the mp3s on both phones as ringtones?

Anyway i guess that's about it. Help me out guys! Thanks
 
i'd say L7 just cause its a bit newer.. and not as ugly in the orange. but.. the l7 uses transflash.. so the memory is pretty bling in price. consider those points too
 
I have heard that the W600's keypad is quite slow and bad for texting...but on the other hand the L7 is poor as well (not as good as the RAZR's apprently). Although in any other case I would say W600i just because of its superior UI I think the L7 is your best bet. It is thin and light, and sturdy due to its metal contruction, albiet the phone does not carry the same woah, where the hell is the keypad reaction that you might get from the W600. And if you like customizing your stuff then the L7 would be good as well, since all Motos are pretty much endlessly hackable.
 
oh my goodness, after looking at the w810, it's like having both the slvr and the w600 combined in one. The keypad looks spectacular as well. It's coming out in early june? Maybe i should wait a couple of months...
 
yah.. the w810 woudl be a great choice too.. probalby even stronger recption than the l7 and w600i. i don't like the w600i.. everything about it is odd to me.
 
Is there anything else i should consider? i don't really want to waste the big bucks for that 2 mp camera on the w810, it seems kind of wasteful being that i carry a digicam around...
 
Well W810 is $100 more expensive than the W800 just for the Quad-Band... Depending on which provider you use, you might want to take a look at the W800, but if you're in America, know that it only supports 1900 band not 850 aswell.

W600 has a big issue with which everyone here has confrunted with :: White Screen of Death (or WSOD) - - I know from personal experience that it is a pain, I had to send my phone to SE Repair Center to get it fixed... and now I'm selling it on eBay.

As p-Ostal said, W600 is fun best part is the challenge after you get WSOD lol...

Nonetheless, T9 and the keypad isn't slow-responsive, and it is an overall pretty good phone... I... liked... it... very user-friendly

So choooose wisely =]
