my prelude has 221k on it the rings were changed so the compression is good and the car rides nice but the only thing is that when the car gets up to temp or is cold there is a weird smell that comes from the exhaust i know its not burning oil because it isn't a thick heavy white smoke is very light and has a carbon like smell to it almost like the stuff that builds up at the end of the exhaust . and when i check the dip stick it isn't black and dosent smell of burnt oil in the engine im thinking that is might be sludge that is attached to the walls of the inside of the engine that is burning off. iv been adding that slugde engine oil additive stuff to my oil changes im seeing a slight change but it isn't actually going away significantly
