Slow Smart2Go Map Transfers

Is it the result of a slow MicroSD card? I downloaded a 70mb map, which took half and hour.

That's about right. It's getting faster, though. When it first launched, it took me over 6 hours to download the 104mb Texas map. I did the same map the other day in under an hour. Techncially the whole service is still in Beta.

The slow speeds aren't a result of the card then? From what you've said I understand it's the server?

Agreed, after waiting so long I had given up on it, but if it's only taking a 1/2 hour now that is a definite improvement, sad as that seems lol

yes, seems the servers are slow.

Yes. They're running the whole thing off servers. That's why they came out a few weeks after the launch and apologized and let everyone know they were adding servers.

Is it possible to save these map files on the computer? The program only allows direct transfer to the phone.

I'm not sure what the sizes were but i downloaded VA, MD, and Washington D.C. in under 1/2 an hour! I'm on Verizon Fios w/ 30mb download so I think some of it has to be the connection speeds on our end. I did it on the 1st or 2nd night it became available so i'm sure their was some congestion as well. Havent tried it recently though.
